If you can't care for the world,
How will you take care of yourself?
~
If you can't nestle
How will you breathe?
~
Through dedication and attention
May your heart break into a thousand pieces
Again and again
May each shard, eroded and broken
Find new shapes
And different bodies
Many pulses
Making your thin skin and our deep bones tremble
~
To break again with each embrace
Crack and
Crumble
Again
~
The wind howls through the rubble and remains
Spreading echoes and seeds of ancient sustenance
~
To care, we need to lift the veils of violence and genocide
Of pain and ecocide
Collectively welcoming mourning and love
Shrouding the ghosts of devastation
Embracing each other in our fragility
~
Crying out for life
Howling together
May we do so in humble responsibility
May we carry our burdens with calloused fingers
May we support those who fall
May we rise together
May we open our hearts after skinning our knees
~
How do you take responsibility for everything you don't know?
How do you embrace life?
