We don't exist in a vacuum!
Our skin and bones have always been part of complex living ecologies. The sacred viscera have always been moved by the ground and the stars.
The labor of recovering the wisdom of multi- and interspecies relationships, based on humble symbiotic observation and reciprocal responsibility, opens us up to unlearning the illusion of hierarchical and neutral normality. It opens up space to co-learn that today's challenges have never been limited to climate change, the proliferation of fossil fuels, or an unstable economy.
Certainly, the care and affection of remembering this kaleidoscopic, biological, and relational wisdom tell us the solution to our predicament was never limited to electric vehicles, CO2 capture, renewable energies, or household recycling. Indeed, these are not the necessary intersectional planetary responses to the perverse problems we have created and are reluctantly and apathetically experiencing.
Let's open the lens of our superficial and profoundly limited vision.
Beyond the challenge of changing history and altering perceptions, the crisis is truly relational. May we have the courage to expand and decenter our identity, affinities, and bonds because spirituality and emotions have always been ecological and deeply intertwined with a world teeming with life.
